Gone Again

Gone again...

As the sky darkens
Overgrown weeds sway in the distance
The night air is cool
And as gentle as a whisper
Golden street lamps
Flicker against a cerulean blue sky
And it is quiet once again
Gone is the sound of laughter
And shared conversation
Emotion filled glances
Linger over a steaming cup of coffee
I miss the intensity of your touch
The humour in your eyes
And the curl of your smile
But most of all
I miss
The way that you make me feel
As I stand here reflecting
On a day well spent
I anticipate your return...

Safe journey my love

  1. Knowing
    Love will return
    is the heal
    to the hurt.

    The coffee is warm,
    not scalding.
